I
talian shipyard Pershing, brand of the Ferret-
ti Group and one of the leading manufacturers
worldwide of high-performance motoryachts bet-
ween 15 and 35 metres, unveiled its latest creation
– the Pershing 70 – at this year’s Cannes Yachting
Festival. Hot on the heels of last year’s début of the
Pershing 60, this brand new model strengthens the
yard’s position in the 60- to 80-foot powerboat mar-
ket. The 70 is therefore the second in a new genera-
tion of Pershing yachts, characterised by increasingly
dynamic and extreme lines, luxurious design solu-
tions and innovative, cutting-edge technologies.
Just like the entire Pershing range, this model
stems from the collaboration between yacht designer
Fulvio de Simoni, the Ferretti Group’s research and
development team AYT&D (Advanced Yacht Te-
chnology & Design), and the interior design studio
Centro Stile.
STRIKING DESIGN
From the very first glance, the Pershing 70 strikes
the eye for its futuristic and imposing shapes, fur-
ther enhanced by an original structural design. On
this first hull, the pearl colour of the hull, main deck
and superstructure contrasts with the carbon grey of
the electrically-retractable hardtop. The sides feature
two large glazed surfaces, which result in a restyled
and generous cockpit, comparable to one on larger
models, extending across the entire width of the hull.
The Pershing 70’s elegant design and sporty appea-
rance is completed by the handrails that curve across
the side glazing on the main deck. Also unique are
the large hull windows, at the height of the owner’s
quarters, which draw inspiration from those seen on
the 62-footer and so maintain the same family fee-
ling. The teardrop-shaped windows of the VIP cabin,
located forward, feature an identical design.
Form and function blend harmoniously along the
deck of this model, giving rise to two large sunpads,
one forward and the other aft above the garage.
INTERIORS
The interiors also stand out for their innovative la-
yout and décor, characterised by a skilful use of con-
trasting colours, with the light shades of the ashwood
furniture alternating with the dark tones of the lac-
quered charcoal-grey finishes.
White was the colour chosen for the deck structure
and the ceiling panels, arranged in parallel strips and
fitted with LED lighting systems, provide a contrast
to the dark wood flooring.
The ivory leather furnishings in the saloon compri-
se a large U-shaped sofa with storage drawers, an ex-
tendable dining table seating up to six guests, and a
low units with a 46” screen TV, with a pop-up version
available upon request.
The starboard side pilot station features a Poltrona
Frau two-seater leather bench. There is also the option
of fitting a bar unit in this area.
TWO LEVELS BELOW DECK
Below deck, the layout consists of three ensuite cabins
and a galley-dinette on a mezzanine level, from which
the owner can access his full-beam suite.
Inside the master cabin, a partition decorated with
wave-shaped leather inserts visually separates the en-
trance area – fitted with a double wardrobe – from the
bedroom itself, which is decorated in the same style.
The master bathroom on this first Pershing 70 featu-
res extremely original décor choices, especially in the
shower box, where the main wall is fitted with hori-
zontal metallic strips which, when soaked with light,
create a palette in line with the very latest interior
design trends.
All other areas below deck are directly accessible
from the mezzanine level: to starboard is the linear
galley, while to portside the dinette can optionally
be replaced by a generous twin-bed third cabin and
bathroom with separate shower, which also serves as
a day head thanks to a secondary door in the lobby.
In this case, the galley is moved to starboard a takes
on an L shape. The VIP cabin, at the extreme bow,
is truly spacious and well-appointed, with a dou-
ble wardrobe and ensuite bathroom with separate
shower.
TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS
The Pershing 70 is also truly impressive for the array
of technological solutions that can be installed upon
request and that really make this yacht stand out abo-
ve others of a similar size.
A series of MOSFET electronic control units (tran-
sistor-based technology) has been fitted across the en-
tire yacht, allowing the electrical system to be sim-
plified and the number of cables reduced. Instead of
traditional control panels and switches, the boat can
now be controlled through NaviOP touchscreen dis-
