T
he Prestige design studio, in collaboration with
architects J&J Design, performed extensive sea
trials to ensure that the brand new 750’s hull would
deliver optimum performance, stability and structu-
ral reliability. The result of this work is a planing
hull with a deep-V bow, a 14º deadrise angle and
spray rails. In line with Germanischer Lloyd certifi-
cation, the hull, deck and superstructure are entirely
infusion-moulded with vinylester resin to prevent
osmosis and reduce weight. Structural bulkheads are
also infusion-moulded, whilst non-structural ones are
in foam/plywood sandwich. In short, a truly seawor-
thy hull and a relatively light boat given the length,
which allow her to be fitted out with more equip-
ment without jeopardising performance and, at the
same time, to drastically cut fuel consumption.
INTERIORS
Yet Prestige and J&J have not focussed solely on
hydrodynamics and seaworthiness with this launch.
The overall concept of the model, in which Cami-
lo Garroni once again plays a major role, breaks new
ground and pays particular heed to optimising inte-
rior volumes and headroom, thus offering a unique
proposition in the 70-foot market.
From an accommodation point of view, and based
around the idea of simplifying the construction pro-
cess, this model is only available with one interior la-
yout. This comprises of four cabins with the all-new
feature of a main-deck master suite placed forward that
bestows stunning sea views. Being full-beam, there is
space for a large fully-fitted ensuite and walk-in closet.
The other three cabins are located on the lower
deck, made up of two twin cabins and a full-beam
VIP suite midships. What’s more, the aft section
houses the crew quarters featuring a bunk bed and
wet head, as well as laundry services.
As for décor, three proposals have been developed
using treated wood for all furniture in the saloon, ca-
bins and bathrooms.
Finer details are enhanced through the use of matt
varnish, leather and fabrics, whilst ceiling recesses
and bulwarks are covered in technical textiles. Cul-
tured marble has been used for the galley worktops
and bathroom surfaces, whilst decorative glass tops
the furniture in the saloon.
The lower and main decks are carpeted as standard,
with the option of parquet if desired. All fabrics are of
very high quality and have 3D texture.
MAIN DECK
The main deck of the flagship Prestige also offers an
innovative and functional layout, placing the dining
table and galley to aft and therefore allowing crew to
serve guests seated in the cockpit through the large
glass-panelled door, which can also slide back to har-
monise inside and outside spaces.
This design allows for the entire central part of the
main deck to be occupied by the full-beam saloon,
which itself boasts a long sofa to one side and a further
semicircular one around a coffee table to the other.
The galley, with a free-standing island, features
everything needed for long cruises, with two huge
fridges and space for an optional freezer in the dining
area. A wine cellar is also a possibility here, and the
boat is delivered with a full set of tableware and cut-
lery. Laundry services are found in the crew quarters.
The semi-prototype version we boarded during her
presentation to the yachting media came with a rather
subdued and square-cornered all-glass dining table,
but this will change on future units.
A step up on the port side leads to the helm station,
which has a two-man seat facing a dark leather das-
hboard and a side door heading out to the walkway.
EXTERIOR
The Prestige 750’s design bestows great importance
to outdoor spaces. Whilst the bow area sports a lar-
ge sunpad and forward-facing observation seating,
the main-deck aft cockpit and its sofa offers a second
alfresco area shaded by the large flybridge overhang.
From here, guests have the privilege of accessing a
10m2 upper deck with sunning area. A convertible
hardtop covers the central area of the fly, providing
shade and protection when required to the entertai-
ning area, which itself features a U-shaped settee with
table and also a console with refrigerator and grill.
The aft section of this area is reserved for the tender
and its hydraulic davit.
CRUISING
The Prestige Yacht 750, designed to cruise in any sea
condition with excellent handling, is powered by twin
MAN V8 1200hp engines and shaft drives, which
is the output recommended by the yard but can be
upgraded to twin 2000hp diesels. With this engine
