With a host of dining or relaxation areas scattered
from the sundeck down to the main deck, the interiors
also open up to the sea thanks to the many large win-
dows gracing both sides.
The quirky positioning of the garage, with the ten-
der, jet skis and other toys situated further forward than
usual, frees up the full aft area for a beach club, outfitted
with a changing room, shower and bathroom, small ga-
lley and several armchairs.
Galactica Star
Heesen’s most
revolutionary superyacht
In March, the Dutch shipyard Heesen launched Galac-
tica Star, its first all-aluminium Fast Displacement Hull
Form (FDHF) motoryacht.
The concept was first unveiled in 2010 and work star-
ted in 2011. Based on a sophisticated hydrodynamic
design created by Van Oossanen Naval Architects and
implemented by Heesen’s in-house naval architecture
studio, the FDHF results in a vessel that is 30% more
efficient than a round-bilge motoryacht. The advanced
design of Galactica Star combines a special hybrid hull
form which delivers a very low wave profile over the
entire speed range, which creates a much smaller stern
wave and thus less resistance, whilst also improving her
sea-keeping and manoeuvrability. This provides a very
positive impact on the cost of running the yacht, as well
as lowering her environmental footprint due to reduced
engine emissions. Combined with the yard’s expertise in
weight reduction and twin MTU 20V4000M93L engi-
nes developing 4300kW at 2100rpm, Galactica Star can
achieve a top speed of 27 knots with low consumption
and a range of 4,200 miles at the cruising speed of 14
knots. The interior accommodates eight guests in four
double cabins, plus the full-beam owner’s suite and a
VIP stateroom on the upper deck. Exterior lines are by
Frank Laupman at Omega Architects, whilst Bannen-
berg and Rowell designed the interiors.

Canados adds 32-metre model to its
flybridge range
The Canados 106 is the new member of this Italian
shipyard’s flybridge range, joining the Canados 86 and
the Canados 120 unveiled last year. Cristiano Gatto was
responsible for the fully-customised interior design, whilst
exterior and naval architecture were completed by the
yard’s in-house design team. Although this model reflects
well-renowned Canados performance and technology, the
106 features first-time design elements such as large side
windows on the main deck, which allow more light to
flood into the dining area and the owners’ stateroom.
Accommodation is provided for six guests on the lower
deck with a VIP suite, a double which can be converted
into a twin if required, and a twin. Crew accommodation
is located forward in the lower deck with three cabins.

Seashare 23
Smooth sailing
The new Seashare 23 is an all-aluminium displacement
explorer designed by Fulvio de Simoni and which offers
a more-than-decent range, low consumption, and outdo-
or spaces created for socialising and maximum comfort.
The boat, currently in the project stage, will be built by
Shadow Line, the new owners of the Seashare brand, and
marketed in Spain by Sent-Yacht Masnou.
The first model, measuring 23.9 metres and with a beam
of 6.9 metres, has been designed with stability, silence and
low emissions in mind, as well as comfort and safety. It will
boast generous spaces below deck, comfortable access to the
water, an easy-to-use and secure tender launch system, va-
rious helm stations and the possibility to arrange different
outdoor spaces at the same time. For instance, the fore deck
can be designed as a sunbathing area or as a garage for a
large tender, a small sailboat, three motorbikes or even a car.
The spacious galley will feature a walk-in cold room
and temperature-controlled wine storage to guarantee
provisions in any circumstances. Below deck, plans are for
an owner’s cabin with ensuite and private study, the ga-
lley, a living area, three guest cabins and one crew cabin.
The engine room is separated from the day and night-
time areas and will house just the engine and generators,
whilst the rest of equipment and systems will be placed in
a further room to conceal pipes, cables or any other noise-
or vibration-inducing elements.
The Seashare 23 can be fitted with twin 600hp or
1100hp CAT or MAN engines, and will cruise between 8
and 13 knots, with a top speed of 17 knots.
With a weight of 61 tons, the yacht will enjoy an ocean-
going range thanks to the 21,000 litres she can carry in
her fuel tanks.
